products and technology that will sustain a new age supported
by structural analysis technology.” The center develops
a wide range of thermoplastic compounds, from various
commonly used plastics to engineering plastics and biodegradable
plastics. It aims to achieve top results and create unique
products. In this connection, thanks to expertise accumulated
over many years, it boasts the world’s top results in
the area of vinyl chloride compounds. In addition, it
has succeeded in developing unique products-such as dynamically
crosslinked thermoplastic elastomers, electro-conductive
materials, and biodegradable materials?endowed with various
kinds of advanced functions. It is also active in a broad
range of fields-from industrial fields such as automobiles
and electronic equipment, to daily-life products fields
such as building materials and home appliances. |

Applied R&D research group |

This group is divided into various teams, one for each of several fields: materials for daily-life products such as home electronics, toys, and medical supplies; structural materials such as building materials and civil engineering materials; industrial materials for electric wires and electronic equipment; etc. Applications suited to each field’s diverse needs are developed from an extensive array of materials ranging from commonly used compounds such as vinyl chloride to thermoplastic elastomers and engineering plastics. |
