R&D Center's philosophy is, “Work to cultivate creative seeds and to understand latent needs, and develop products and technology that will sustain a new age supported by structural analysis technology.” The center develops a wide range of thermoplastic compounds, from various commonly used plastics to engineering plastics and biodegradable plastics. It aims to achieve top results and create unique products. In this connection, thanks to expertise accumulated over many years, it boasts the world’s top results in the area of vinyl chloride compounds. In addition, it has succeeded in developing unique products-such as dynamically crosslinked thermoplastic elastomers, electro-conductive materials, and biodegradable materials?endowed with various kinds of advanced functions. It is also active in a broad range of fields-from industrial fields such as automobiles and electronic equipment, to daily-life products fields such as building materials and home appliances.

Applied R&D research group This group is divided into various teams, one for each of several fields: materials for daily-life products such as home electronics, toys, and medical supplies; structural materials such as building materials and civil engineering materials; industrial materials for electric wires and electronic equipment; etc. Applications suited to each field’s diverse needs are developed from an extensive array of materials ranging from commonly used compounds such as vinyl chloride to thermoplastic elastomers and engineering plastics.

Basic research group Using macromolecule alloying technology and cutting-edge technology such as reactive processes, this group endeavors to create thermoplastic elastomers-especially automobile-related materials-with high added value.

Production technology group This group investigates a wide range of matters, from the mass production of materials developed by the Applied R&D Group and the Basic Research Group, to suggestions for solving customers’ molding problems. It is in this group that our company’s many years of technological expertise are most concentrated.

Analysis center Using various kinds of analysis and analytical equipment, this unit analyzes the materials developed by the company. Analyzing plastic materials makes it possible to understand their problem points and helps in the designing of higher-quality materials.
