What's Revestar?
Rivestar® is the brand name for RIKEN TECHNOS film, whose main raw materials are polyester resins.
What are polyester resins?
They are macromolecules that have ester bonds: esters polymerized from acid and alcohol. Based on their uses, they can be divided into the following two types.
Saturated Polyesters
These resins soften when heated. Based on this property, they can be used to make pliable products: ink, adhesives, PET bottles, fiber, film, sheets.
Unsaturated Polyesters
These resins harden when heated. Based on this property, they can be used to make highly heat-resistant products: polyester plywood, artificial marble, baking paint.
Depending on their type and method of processing, saturated polyester resins can be given various characteristics, as indicated in the table below. Rivestar® combines these saturated polyester resins in various types of highly functional composite film that effectively meet customer needs.

In addition to these excellent features:
  When saturated polyesters burn, they decompose into water vapor and carbon dioxide; they do not produce dioxin, etc.
  Their number of calories burned is low (about the same as for paper and wood), so there is no cause for concern about damaging incinerators.
  They do not contain any genvironmental hormonesh: substances suspected of disturbing internal secretions (substances specified by the Environmental Agency in its gEnvironmental Hormone Strategy Plan Speed e98 ").
Rivestar®is genvironmentally friendly filmh that is gentle to the earthfs environment and safe for people.

Suitability for Processing
Lamination - Wrapping - V Cut
Rivestar film can be laminated, wrapped or V-cut, and doesnft whiten.
3D Vacuum Formation
Like polyvinyl chloride film, Rivestar film can be formed in a vacuum or with a membrane press.
Excellent Machinability
Being hard, polyester resin has excellent machinability. No gmachining chipsh occur, so work can be done smoothly.
Laminating Without Priming
The surface of polyester resin film is highly wet, so it need not be processed with primer.

Food Sanitation Law
The saturated polyester resins in Rivestar film conforms with the Ministry of Health and Welfarefs Notification No. 20: it is an extremely clean film.

Designability and Functionality
Freely Processable
With regard to such things as surface designability (color, luster, etc.), surface hardness, and resistance to dirt, Rivestar film offers the same suitability for printing and the same surface performance as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film. Moreover, it can be heat-laminated.
